After months of preparation and legwork, I’m very proud to announce a new website launch for the Red Cross / State Farm Disaster Services Open. Having worked closely with the two organizations, the design was able to meet and exceed the original goals of the project to create a site that all parties are absolutely thrilled with.
The tournament itself, as the name implies, serves to raise funds for disaster relief operations. I really suggest checking out the site, if only to find out more about an important cause.
Let’s take a look at what makes the tournament’s design effective:

-
Imagery
The background of the website is a photograph of the Branson Creek Golf Club, the gorgeous course where the Disaster Services Open will be held.
-
Readability
The amount and type of content on each page is carefully considered and weighed, so that there is enough detail, but not so much that reading becomes tedious.
-
Calls to Action
Each page has at least one call to action, which is signified by being slightly offset from the rest of the content. This draws the viewer’s eye quickly.
